Qantas Airways Boeing 747-400 "Wunala Dreaming" (VH-OEJ)
This is a 1/400 scale model of Qantas' Boeing 747-400. The aircraft was the second plane to wear the special livery named "Wunala Dreaming" - an Indigenous Australian themed livery created by Balarinji and in collaboration with the Yanyuwa people of northern Australia. This model is from HX Wings and is the exact replica of the aircraft with registration number VH-OEJ.
The Boeing 747, affectionately known worldwide as “The Queen of the Skies” or “The Jumbo Jet”, single-handedly changed commercial air travel upon its introduction during the late 60’s. With a production run that lasted for more than 50 years, over 1000 units of this plane were made and graced the international skies.
Qantas operated 65 Boeing 747's in its lifetime. The airline has the distinction of operating all passenger variants of the 747. In total, the airline operated 3 "-100 series", 23 "-200 series", 6 "-300 series", 31 "-400 series", and 2 "SP series". All of their 747's were retired last March 2020 and were subsequently replaced by the Airbus A380 and Boeing 787's.
